alternatives for 3dStudio Max?
Hi Sorry for posting in English, but my german is very poor. Feel free to respond in German, i can read it well enough. Does anyone know a good an affordable (an legal) alternative for 3d studio max. Antone expierence with other programes or converters? Yours Parcival R. |

Hi Parcival.Rex ! At the moment there is only one existing alternative you can use instead of 3D Studio Max. The shareware program "Milkshape" can be used to create smaller 3d meshes. It is not capable of creating level meshes but for weapons, items and so on it works. There are many programs which can export in *.3ds but there is an exporter for gothic needed in order to have all the mapping an textures work in gothic. Bye, Nightwulf |

Hi! As far as I know you could also use Cinema 4D. I'am not sure, but I think you don't have to use a special gothic exporter there. It's cheaper than 3D Studio Max und a little bit more professional than Milkshape. As I said, I am not sure, so if you are interested, try the shareware here: Maxon Homepage Good luck!
