I hope there is someone here who speaks english so I can get some help
After the cinematic when the two guys are talking I get a grey screen.
Ihear them talking and from playing with the controls I gather i can ask or skip questions.
All I get is a grey screen. Can anyone help me?

What kind of graphics-board do you use?
What version of Gothic do you use?
Demo or Full?
English or german?

Sounds like u have to enable FogTable Emul. in the settings of your Geforce card.

I figured it out!
I updated my graphics card drivers again and it works now
Aparently it was corrupted the first time
By the way i'm playing the Demo and I cannot find Cavalorn
Where is he????
I know certain parts of the demo are blocked off, is he in one of these restricted places
Please if someone can tell me exactly where I can find him!

No he is outside of the demo region.

You won't find him in the demo, he's supposed to be outside of your available area, but only in the full version. Btw. if you want to pass the frontier you can cheat your way through by opening the status screen with "s".Then you type "marvin" blindly and get out of the screen with "s" again, everything without quotes of course. Now you can use "k" to shift your character forwards through obstacles. You'll see then that some parts of the world are missing in the demo. Hope this helps! :)

Well there is no one outside the demo area only heath and food
I have a few questiuons though
1.What are the maximum amount of skill points I can get in the demo and what are the tasks I have to accomplish to get them? So far I've helped the cook with his ingredients, bought the sword for whistler and found Nek.What else do i have to do?
2. If I cant meet Cavalorn how do I get expierence?
3.When do I get to fight someone? So far evereyone has kicked my butt
4.When does the demo end? This place is so amazing and engaging its like you can go on doing things forever.....although this can be annoying when you dont know what you're doing.
5.Is there a walkthrough in English?
I know that these questions may already be ansewered on this site but unfortunately I dont speak German so I will greatly appreciate any help I can get and thank you all for your patience.
P.S.When will the full game be avadiable ?

I cannot answer most of your questions because I didn't play the whole demo yet. The goal in Gothic is to gain experience points by doing the quests and using them to improve your skills and strength. When you have some skill you're able to beat the beasts and some NPCs in the game and get experience this way also.
We've just been told that the release of the demo was an "accident" and still it's unknown when the English full version will be out and who's publishing it (tho it's already finished
). You might find more useful information in English at rpg.com, they also have a forum for Gothic. That should be a good place to post questions about the English demo as well.HTH :)
