Hi Leute,
ich wollte mal wieder Gothic II zocken und hab das Game wieder installiert. Ich habe aber massive Soundprobleme (Sound, auch bei den Intro-Videos, "hängt", klingt absolut grausam). Ich habe das Game mit exakt derselben Hardware schon durchgezockt und hatte keine Probleme. Nachdem ich nun den Rechner neu aufgesetzt habe geht's auf einmal nicht mehr.

WIN 98
Geforce 3
512 MB DDR-Ram
Onboard-Sound
Habt ihr eine Lösung für mich?

Hattest du vorher auch Onboard Sound. Hatte nämlich dasselbe Prob, weil ich meine Soundkarte kurzzeitig nicht hatte und Onboard Sound benutzen mussten. War Grausamm.

probier mal folgendes:
ausführen: dxdiag -> sound1 und dort bei hardwarebeschleunigung den regler ganz nach links schieben...
wenn das nicht geht...dann weiss ich nicht was du machen könntest

In diesem Rechner hatte ich noch nie eine separate Soundkarte. Was sich geändert hat ist nur die Netzwerkkarte. Kann es daran liegen, daß meine Win98-Version schon alt ist? Kann ich mir kaum vorstellen. Immerhin läuft die Karte ja über die Treiber und die sind neu. Außerdem hat kein anderes Game Soundprobelme (egal ob relativ neu, z.B. Morrowind, NWN oder JK2, oder auch relativ alt wie z.B. Diablo II oder FF7).

bist du sicher, dass du die treiber für die onboardkarte neu installiert hast ?
die müssten afaik auf der cd fürs mainboard mit drauf sein.
was sagt denn dxdiag zu den treibern der soundkarte ?

Ich mußte den Rechner komplett neu aufsetzen (incl. Festplattenformatierung!), da er total "zerschossen" war und kaum noch lief. Ich habe es nun auch mit den Treibern der Board-CD (hatte davor die Aktuellen von der MSI-Site) versucht. Klappt auch nicht.
Beim Verstellen der Einstellungen in der dxdiag bekomme ich folgenden Fehler:

sieht eigentlich so aus, als müsste es ohne probleme laufen. das einzige, was mich ein wenig verwundert, ist das hier :

sieh zur not mal über den taskmanager nach und beende alle unnötigen programme und versuchs dann nochmal.

Aus der Fehlermeldung werde ich auch nicht schlau. Ich habe nun mal über den Taskmanager alle Prozesse, die nicht unbedingt benötigt wurden, beendet und bekomme die Fehlermeldung trotzdem.
Hat jemand einen Tip, wo ich mich noch hinwenden könnte (eine Mail-Adresse bei PB zum Beispiel) oder was ich noch versuchen könnte? Solange das Hauptprogramm nicht anständig läuft, hole ich mir auch das Addon nicht.

@ Lord Kahless: Grundsätzlich ist eine separate Soundkarte schon besser. Aber da das Game mit dem Onboard Sound schonmal gelaufen ist will ich mir nicht nur wegen 1 Game eine neue Karte zulegen. Bin finanziell derzeit recht knapp.
Vielleicht findet jemand ja noch die Lösung zu meinem Problem.

Ich hatte fast das gleiche Problem.
Da ich keinen Bock hatte stundenlang nach der Ursache zu suchen, hab ich mir einfach ne Soundkarte gekauft.
Das klappte sofort und ohne Probleme.
Mein Tipp ist die 4.1/5.1 SBLive! und die
Terratec Aureon 5.1 Fun
