Ich kann den GothMoth nicht starten.
HI

(#1000)

Dateiname der DLL:SHW32.DLL

Bitte helft mir.

Mmmh, n bisserl ungedulig, was? :-)

D;(zcvobetVisual)
;could not load visual `Invisible_zccamtrj_Keyframe. 3DS `for vobname" of class `z(camtry-Keyframe`

Need help with mod
In the MOD-player I've downloaded, there's also a file called Vdfs.CFG Do you have to replace the original one by this one?
If I do I can't load the MOD from Bert I've installed -> back to windows with access-violation-error and if I don't I can start the mod but I can't see any differences with the original game so I think it's taking the data of the original. So what can I do?

BTW what's the first change you can see with the MOD?

Here's the description of the problem:

>In the MOD-player I've downloaded, there's also a file called >dfs.CFG Do you have to replace the original one by this one?

YES!
The new one must contain an additional line. The whole file must look like this:

[VDFS]
$:data*.VDF,255
data*.VDF
data*.MOD
[END]

Tip: You can remove the seconds line ($:data*.VDF,255) if you have installed Gothic completly.

>If I do I can't load the MOD from Bert I've installed -> back to >windows with access-violation-error

UGLY. I DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPENS ;-(
Test the following:
- Move the file "gothmoth.mod" into the directory "[GOTHIC]/data/" if it isnt (its correct path is originally "[GOTHIC]/data/modvdf" an will be moved by the GothicStarter)
- Start Gothic with "gothicmod.exe -gameothmoth.ini" using the windows-console (MSDOS-Prompt).

CORRECT. THATS WHY WE UPATED "VDFS.CFG"

> BTW what's the first change you can see with the MOD?

- SOME BOARDS BUILDING A HUGE FENCE BEHIND DIEGO
- A SKELETON ON THE BACK TOP SIDE OF THE FIRST GATE

Thanks Bert,

I think I know the problem; Windows recognises the MOD-file as a Winamp mediafile, so unable to read it. But what's the solution for it!? I've read on the Gomp-forum one has the same problem!

Hi Bourrie.
Well, in my Opinion you have to change the registered Files entry for the .mod file.
To do so, simply unmark the entry for the .mod file in the Winamp Preferences Tab for associated files extensions.
Another option is to simply uninstall winamp, and reinstall it after you found the error is on winamp, then correct it.

Anyway, I have Winamp installed, and the mod-extension is registered as a winamp media file.
But I got no problems when I start Bert`s Mod. But I am struggling with WinME ;)

Greetings

I have tryed everything now. With still the same result. I only can start the original Gothic using the Gothicstarter. The game loads right with both the original and the Mod, but I can only start "Neues spiel" with the original game loaded! The transfer of the Mod-file is good, the calling Gothmod.exe is good Gothmod.ini is good! Don't know! Thanks for your help Guys! I'll try again tomorrow! I hope I can find the prob. Any tips remains welcome.

BTW Now the Mod-file is known as a MOD-file, but the prob isn't gone!

Well, have you already tried to reinstall both applications, the Origninal Gothic and the Mod Kit?

Good Luck

I've done that and it started up nice. Then I've pushed "Neue Spiel" to start a new game. It loaded a bit and then -> Back to dektop with the following message (just the same scenario using the gothicstarter)

======================================= UNHANDLED EXCEPTION OCCURED ======================================================
======================================= CRASH INFOS: =====================================================================
GOTHIC 1.08mod, Parser Version: 50

0167:005B95BD (0x0000FFFF 0x00000000 0x007FA6DC 0x0000000F) GOTHICMOD.EXE

I've reïnstalled Gothic, the patch, the gothicstarter and the Mod with the same result as before:

I've started both the original and the Mod with the Gothicstarter;
the original game starts fine and the mod crashes on starting a new game from the menu!

I'll not give up; Gothic is my best game ever, even in German and I want to play everything that's coming out about it. Am I really the only one who has this prob? PLEASE help me on this one and give me tips! I thank you all very much in advance!

Looks like you got a serios problem....
But perhaps you`ll have to set the virtual Memory higher.
How big is your Swap-file?

512 Min & Max!!
For the original Gothic, it was good enough! On the Gomp-forum there're at least four people who has the same problem! It's unbelievable, I've never had probs before to run a game. Besides "Gothic" I'm playing for the moment "Operation Flashpoint", "Desperados wanted Dead or Alive", "Severance Blade of Darkness" and "No one Lives Forever". Noticed no problems with any of this games as I keep my pc clean on soft-and hardware!

Too bad that no one can provide a solution here because I have the same problem. I get an "Access Violation" window when I try to start a new game with the mod.

I have 512MB RAM and a swap file of 1024MB. Gothic ran excellent without the mod.
